"Don't be so wrapped up in who you want to be that you forget who you are." (4)

All the stuff i talked about in the last....however many, posts...i'm off it. It's not important anymore. In fact, they may be deleted.

Moving on to bigger and better things.

Last night on twitter, i went on an inspirational "think about it" tirade, and said some things that people more or less agreed with. I honestly wonder how many people actually thought about responses to the questions I asked... Anywhooo..
The tweet that got the most attention was this:

"Don't be so wrapped up in who you want to be that you forget who you are."

Out of all the things I said, this one was retweeted four times. I reckon that means that, in real life, people act like they don't know who they are anymore. I guess it's a very flexible statement, as it can apply to multiple situations. For instance...

• celebrities who let fame go to their head. like they forget where they come from. it's fairly rare you hear people talk about things other than their material possessions or what they want more of, like what they started off with or never had. they like to live in this fantasy world of gaining popularity and money, basically, attention and affection from people they don't even know. Don't be so wrapped up in who you want to be that you forget who you are.

• like celebrities, there are fake people in real life, who are more concerned with gaining, again, attention and affection, from people that don't even matter. it's not like getting on twitter and trying to get a bunch of followers [although some people let that go to their heads sometimes, too], cuz you can seperate that from real life. but there are people that do it in real life and don't know who their real friends are, or, at least, were. they get caught up in trying to make friends with the "right" people, and forget about the real people, and wonder why they feel so lonely when the "right" people find a new attraction. Don't be so wrapped up in who you want to be that you forget who you are.

• boys and girls that don't know their place. meaning guys that try to get friendly with girls and get so wrapped up in trying to be something else they forget the word "FRIEND" is labeled on their face, and girls that get so close to guys that they figure they might as well be more of a priority in that guy's life than other people. and vise versa and the like. side chicks, buddies, etc. they know what they want, but don't seem to know their actual place and find it a problem when they get told to back it up. Don't be so wrapped up in who you want to be that you forget who you are.

When I tweeted that, it wasn't directed toward anyone, I was just saying stuff..lol. But I reckon it really spoke to some people. But then, I have to wonder, are they all as real as they make themselves out to be? No one's perfect, blah, blah, blah, but if people actually think out their motives and stayed humble, I think a lot of problems could be avoided..

Know your place. Don't be so wrapped up in who you want to be that you forget who you are.
